I didn't see myself creating a webpage any time in my distant future, but thanks to my recent enrollment in Franklin University, the opportunity (and expectation!) came up much sooner than anticipated!
My name's Carla. I work full-time for Solon Fire and Rescue, in Solon, Ohio. My position is that of Public Safety Educator and Fire Safety Inspector. I teach the majority of fire and injury prevention education to the schools and any industry in the city requesting presentations or classes. Previously, I worked as a Firefighter/Paramedic within the same department.
I am also in the military, currently with the Ohio Army National Guard where I serve as the NCOIC of an exam station. Being in the military has given me the chance to experience many opportunities I feel I would otherwise have missed....... travel to distant countries, flying in helicopters as a flight medic, improving upon my leadership and medical skills, and the challenge to remain physically fit!
I have received additional training as both a physician assistant and a massage therapist. While I continue to maintain both, I function minimally in both of these capacities, as I have yet to find a way to add additional days to a week, or hours to my days!
When my two jobs don't keep me away and occupied, I live near Chardon, Ohio, with my husband, and our three children. I look forward to the summer months and all they may bring!
